Most
of the ornaments worn by the Classical dancers such as Bharat Natyam or Kuchipudi are either made up of silver or coated in
gold and embedded with gemstones (known as temple jewelery). The dancer wears the
head ornaments include Mathapatti (Nethi Chutti ), Rakodi, Sooryan on right and Chandran
on left; two kinds of ear ornaments - thodu and Mattal with jumkis; the neck ornaments
include Addigai (necklace or choker) and Maala (long chain or Haram);Bajuband on the shoulders and ghungroos (cluster of bells) around her ankles.
